Professional Experience

Dave Zook is an advisor to the private and public sectors on federal budgetary, legislative, and regulatory matters. His practice focuses on public policy and funding initiatives in the health, higher education, and research arenas. In addition to his role with B&D Consulting, he also serves as the managing partner of the Baker & Daniels office in Washington , D.C.

Dave has developed a solid record of client accomplishments with Congress and the Executive Branch. He has directed complex federal relations initiatives for private companies, trade and voluntary associations, hospitals, universities and local governments.

Dave's strong Capitol Hill background includes serving as associate counsel to the House Appropriations Committee. There, he was a lead advisor to Republican committee members on energy research, water resource development, and nuclear defense funding. He also worked in legislative and communications positions for two Members of Congress. Later, Dave served as a senior executive of a national health organization, the Arthritis Foundation, where he established a Washington, D.C.-based public policy group.
