Bet Tzedek Holocaust Survivors Justice Network

Baker & Daniels is Indiana's coordinating firm in the Bet Tzedek Holocaust Survivors Justice Network Indiana Project. Attorneys help Holocaust Survivors complete their applications for reparations, namely the German Ghetto Work Payment Program. The firm partnered with the Jewish Community Center, the Jewish Federation of Indianapolis and Elder Source of Greater Indianapolis to develop the infrastructure for administering the program in Indiana, which includes training and pre-screening. After completion of the training program, attorneys were matched with survivors who requested pro bono assistance with their applications. Survivors have two meetings with a pro bono attorney team — the first meeting collects initial information for the application and the second completes the review and signing of the application. To date, more than 20 survivors have been matched with teams of pro bono attorneys from Baker & Daniels.
