Family Justice Center

The Family Justice Center of St. Joseph County in Indiana is the final center to be opened under the Family Justice Center Initiative and is located in one of 15 communities chosen under this initiative to prevent and respond to violence against women.

Julian Center

Volunteer opportunities are available for lawyers to engage in pro bono activities at The Julian Center, a nationally recognized domestic violence shelter and program in Indianapolis. Baker & Daniels lawyers assist in pro bono representation or serve as part of legal in-take for pro se divorce clinics and offer one-on-one information and advice to residents. Additionally, Baker & Daniels hosted pro bono trainings with The Julian Center to further develop the pool of pro bono lawyers available to assist with domestic relations and immigration cases.

Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV)
 

In collaboration with ICADV, Baker & Daniels lawyers participate in the Protective Order Pro Bono Project and represent victims of domestic violence at contempt hearings when a protective order is violated. Additionally, through the State Appellate Pro Bono Project, the firm's lawyers have assisted ICADV in an appeal related to clarifying the interpretation of "no contact" protective orders.

Legal Aid Centre of Eldoret

The Legal Aid Centre of Eldoret (LACE) is based in the Kenya hospital that hosts the AMPATH program, resembling the Medical-Legal Partnership that Baker & Daniels helped develop in Indiana. Baker & Daniels professionals are working to expand the AMPATH/LACE partnership, along with other initiatives.
